The mass media refers to communication methods used to reach large audiences and often also to the individuals and organizations that operate and control these communication methods.

Significance

The term often implies a one-way communication, where a few simultaneously communicate to many. More interactive and two-way communication methods, such as postal communications, phone communications, and the Internet are often not referred to as mass media (although individuals parts may be, such as internet news websites).

The "news media" are those elements of the mass media that focus on delivering news. These include print media (such as newspapers), broadcast news (such as radio and television), and more recently certain parts of the Internet (such as Internet news websites). News media organizations are often only one part of larger mass media organizations.

The mass media is very important for anyone wanting to influence society. Using mass media in order to influence large audiences may be relatively open (such as in commercials) or more subtle and subconscious (such as using entertainment media for "product placement" advertising, for promoting a particular view on history such as regarding the Holocaust, or for promoting positive or negative views on particular groups and individuals).

A trend has been towards an increasingly lower number of very large media corporations, ultimately owning most of the popular mass media (although this may not be apparent if only looking at the names of media organizations without looking at their ultimate owners). This has increased the risk of politically correct conformity.

History

The mass media is under the control of a fairly small number of people. This can be dangerous because it gives them huge influence. This is not a problem if they are honest. It is not a major problem if they have contending agendas because one will reveal truth suppressed by others. Most of the mass media today have agendas aiming to break Western civilization. Two of the great media moguls who have used the media to further their aims are Willi Münzenberg and Rupert Murdoch. Willi's agenda was political because he was a communist subversive.[1] Murdoch's agenda is cultural, promoting sexual licence and Zionism.

After World War I, Jews who represented about 2% of the population controlled most of the media in Germany and neighboring countries. In 1933 in Germany, many Jews moved to the United States. In 2013, most of the media in the United States was owned and controlled by seven people, and they were all Zionist Jews.[2]

Things are changing with the rise of the Internet which gives anyone with a computer and access the ability to publish. So the mainstream media is no longer able to suppress facts and opinions they do not like. Metapedia is part of the alternative media. One characteristic of newspapers and so on is that they are very largely one way communication. The Internet is much more interactive.

Criticism

Media hidden hate crimes

Since the early twentieth century, the news media has broadcast lies and censored the truth. For example in the 21st century, the USA has invaded various countries on false pretenses, often claims of chemical weapons use. At the same time, they censored real chemical weapons use (e.g. white phosphorus) both from the USA and from Israel who has been engaging in a holocaust against Palestinians.[3]

On 18 August 2013, Israeli and political group ADL of B'nai B'rith told YouTube to disable PressTV's YouTube account. YouTube instantly disabled it without explanation and PressTV had to change YouTube channels.[4]

New Zealand’s Waikato Times had an online poll about water fluoridation. 68% of people voted “yes” to hold off adding extremely toxic man made sodium fluoride to drinking water and only 32% said “no”. The paper then didn't like the poll results so they switched them.[5]

In South Africa, as blacks commonly do in Africa, they burn people alive for being alleged witches. The news media there ran a story in 2014 showing white hands on a prison bar when no white people have ever done such crimes there.[6] Mass media has also reported very little about the killings of white farmers in South Africa.

In 2014, Tyler Ford in South Carolina attacked his girlfriend. Tyler is black. In its article, The New York Post put an image of a white man there instead.[7]

In 2014, following a kidnapping of three Israelis, which some considered to be a false flag operation, Israel then went around bombing random innocent Palestinian civilians. Many of the major media outlets went and said Israel was "striking back" for bombing people who had nothing to do with the kidnapping.[8]

Western media sometimes hides black on white crime including deliberate hate crimes such as The Knockout Game and then promotes fake white-on-black hate crimes (such as George Zimmerman and Trayvon Martin).

Legacy media

Legacy media, or old media, are the mass media institutions that dominated prior to the Information Age; particularly print media, film studios, music studios, advertising agencies, radio broadcasting, and television. By definition, it is often contrasted with new media, which are typically computer or smartphone-based media that are interactive and comparatively decentralized, enabling people to telecommunicate with one another peer-to-peer or through social media platforms, with mass use and availability through the Internet. Legacy media is often considered liberal, woke and an enemy of free speech.

Quotes

The truth is that Jewish heritage, Jewish culture, Jewish values are such an essential part of who we are that it’s fair to say that Jewish heritage is American heritage. [...] No group has had such an outsized influence per capita as all of you standing before you, and all of those who went before me and all of those who went before you. [...] The embrace of immigration is part of that. [...] What affects the movements in America, what affects our attitudes in America are as much the culture and the arts as anything else. [...] It wasn’t anything we legislatively did. It was Will and Grace, it was the social media. Literally. That’s what changed peoples’ attitudes. That’s why I was so certain that the vast majority of people would embrace and rapidly embrace gay marriage. [...] Think behind of all that, I bet you 85 percent of those changes, whether it’s in Hollywood or social media are a consequence of Jewish leaders in the industry. The influence is immense, the influence is immense. And, I might add, it is all to the good. [...] Jewish heritage has shaped who we are – all of us, us, me – as much or more than any other factor in the last 223 years. And that’s a fact. [...] So I think you, as usual, underestimate the impact of Jewish heritage. I really mean that. I think you vastly underestimate the impact you’ve had on the development of this nation. We owe you, we owe generations who came before you.
United States Vice President Joe Biden in a speech on 21 May 2013[9]
