Hans Joachim Karl August Adolf von Stockhausen (sometimes also Hans-Joachim; 20 June 1898 – 7 June 1990) was a German naval officer, finally Captain at Sea of the Kriegsmarine in WWII.

Life
After attending Gymnasium and achieving his Abitur, Hans(-)Joachim joined the German Navy in April 1917. He attended the Naval School and was trained on the SMS "Freya", a protected cruiser of the Victoria Louise class. He then served on the SMS "Baden" and the SMS "Emden II". From September to November 1918, he was commanded to further training, including infantry training, after the November Revolution and demobilization, he fought with the Freikorps in the Baltic area. In 1920, he was commanded to the Naval Academy (Marineschule Flensburg), in 1923, he served onboard the battleship "Hannover" and in 1924 with the coastal defense. In 1926, he was naval signals (intelligence) officer in Warnemünde, in 1929, he served onboard the battleship "Hessen" as a radio officer.

- 25 February 1944 to 28 February 1945 Commandant of the Naval High Command (OKM) Staff Headquarters "Bismarck" in Eberswalde and Department Head
- After the command building on Tirpitzufer (Berlin) was bombed in November 1943, the "Bismarck" headquarters in Eberswalde was occupied. However, space there was limited. Therefore, the Commander-in-Chief of the Navy, Karl Dönitz, along with parts of his command staff and the Naval Personnel Office (MPA), quickly relocated from Eberswalde to the "Koralle" headquarters near Bernau. The "Roon" headquarters was planned as a further alternative, but was never occupied.

Family
Hans Joachim was the son of Privy Government Councillor Hans Ernst Ludwig Walther Friedrich von Stockhausen (b. 29 December 1867 in Wiesbaden; d. 1 September 1960 in Trendelburg), District Administrator (Landrat of the Kreis Marienburg), lord of the manor (Gut Wülmersen near Kassel; together with his younger brother Lieutenant Colonel Hans Erich Karl Julius Emil von Stockhausen 1873–1957) and Knight of Justice (Rechtsritter) of the Johanniter-Orden, and his wife (∞ 1897) Olga Marie Therese "Rose", née Kricheldorff (b. 21 June 1877 in Wolmirstedt).[1] He had one brother:
- Hans Wolf Erich Fridolf Claudius (b. 22 October 1899 in Merseburg; d. 22 November 1990), farmer, landowner, reserve officer in WWII, honorary mayor of Trendelburg (1960 to 1968)

Marriage
On 4 December 1934 in Königsberg, Lieutenant Captain von Stockhausen married his fiancée Anne-Marie Edith Lucy Weiß (b. 2 July 1914 in Tilsit). They would have two children:
- Hans-Burckhard Wolf Walter Werner (b. 15 October 1936 in Wilhelmshaven), Dr. med. (license to practice: 16 April 1964), specialist in pediatrics and adolescent medicine (Children's Hospital and Children's Polyclinic of the University) as well as university professor (Julius-Maximilians-Universität Würzburg)
