Johann Gottlieb Fichte (May 19, 1762 - January 27, 1814) was a German philosopher and nationalist.

In 1807–08, he delivered at Berlin his Reden an die deutsche Nation (Addresses to the German Nation), a series of nationalist speeches against the Napoleonic occupation of Prussia, which became an inspiration for German nationalism and the Völkisch movement.
