Jens Peter Petersen (sometimes also Jens-Peter; 12 October 1893 – 20 August 1971) was a German officer, finally Major General of the Luftwaffe in World War II. It can be assumed that he was related to Major Karl-August Petersen, recipient of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross.

But on 1 July 1935, he organized the takeover of the Schönwalde air base near Berlin by the Luftwaffe. He became the first air base commandant in Schönwalde while also leading the 12th Aviation Training Regiment.
