Pete McCloskey

Paul Norton "Pete" McCloskey Jr. (born 29 September 1927) is an American politician who represented San Mateo County, California as a Republican in the U.S. House of Representatives from 1967 to 1983.

In 1989, he was a co-founder, with Paul Findley, of the Council for the National Interest, a Washington, D.C. advocacy group and was a vocal critic of American policy towards Israel and the influence of the Israel lobby.

McCloskey gave an address in 2000 at an Institute for Historical Review. There was controversy over exactly what he said about the Holocaust at the event.
