Style guide

Please see Metapedia:Style guide.

Suitable topics

Not all topics are suitable for Metapedia. Please see Metapedia:Content guidelines.

Wikipedia articles

  • To simply copy-and-paste Wikipedia articles to Metapedia is in general discouraged. If the topic is suitable for Metapedia, then the Wikipedia article is often biased and needs editing.
  • If you do import text from Wikipedia, please add wikipedia at the end of the article you are editing. Add wikipedia PC to the top of the article if you think that part of its content is biased and should be rewritten. This should preferably by done immediately by the person importing the text.

Categories

  • Please add categories to each new page using . Biographical articles, for example, often need categories regarding the topic they deal with, their nationality and their birth year and death year. For instance, for a Dutch philologer born in 1624 and deceased in 1699 add: . Even a bad category is better than no category (a bad one can be modified at any time later).
  • In Wikipedia articles there are sometimes sadly dozens of categories added, which Metapedia does not have, and which are often not helpful in Metapedia. Please think about whether a category is useful, and when it is, look which categories Metapedia does have, and when Metapedia does not have a useful category you want to use, you can create it and categorize the category itself. A simple way is clicking on unknown (red tinted) categories at the end of your articles you think to be expedient and to add them.

Copyright

  • Do not import copyrighted texts from other sites whose copyright you do not hold and avoid uploading copyrighted images.

Images

  • When uploading images, write a short description in the summary box; typically it is recommendable to describe the sources, for example including an entitled link or bibliographical information. You can also add an image copyright code. Such as image for Metapedia image (no copyright information) and PD image for Public domain image. See Help for more information.

Template and signing

Per firmare.PNG
  • Use the template on the upper left side of the editing window, that increases work speed. On the picture the arrow points to the sign button, the other buttons are helpful, too. Talk pages comments should be signed. It is also possible to sign using ~~~~

Your posts

Welcome to the English-language Metapedia. It is important for you to examine some of the various posts and to use the correct formats. In addition you must provide proper and credible sources. Take a look at Treaty of Versailles. Here you will get some ideas on layouts etc, sources and categories. Don't just start a page with a single line and leave it for others to do the work, as in White Lives Matter. I would also point out that contrary to what the Far-Left say about Metapedia, we are not a National Socialist site. Anything we post on this period is for historical purposes, not promotion. Thanks. Photos

Hi,

I do uploading photos and templates using a program. (written in perl, I can give it anybody interested in). If you copy in the future, just leave the images and templates as they are (as you did it in this case) and I'll upload the photos and templates. It takes for me maximum 5 minutes, manually it would be at least an hour work, or more. You are welcome. Hu1 12:21, 15 November 2010 (UTC)

Email perl programs and a short explanation

I sent you the programs and a short explanation. I work with linux, however, I hope, the programs run also on windows. Hu1 13:58, 15 November 2010 (UTC)

I emailed to you using metapedia email, no need for the email address. Do not worry too much, at the beginning I will help with the copy, until you get a bit experienced, then I'll leave you alone. Have fun! Hu1 14:14, 15 November 2010 (UTC)

Good work

Your articles are of excellent quality - especially "White Argentine". Keep up the good work! --Aurvandil 06:07, 10 March 2011 (CET)

Thanks for your comment. It is good to feel that my work is appreciated. Thanks again.--Parmeggiani 06:45, 10 March 2011 (CET)

Portal about South America?

What do you think about creating a portal about South America, where your articles on the subject could be included? If you come up with a suggestion of categories, I can help create one. If you want to create it yourself, just copy one of the portals with the new design, like Portal:Identitarianism. --Aurvandil 18:31, 10 March 2011 (CET)

I have no experience creating portals, I should search for the related articles available here, but I like the idea. I think the portal should be about Latin America; so Mexico, Cuba, Costa Rica and Puerto Rico -with important white populations, if not majorities- could be included in it. What do you think? If you agree, I can copy, paste and edit the format of the portal you created.--Parmeggiani 11:49, 11 March 2011 (CET)
Excellent! I have now created a portal for you to edit. Let me know if you want different colors of the portal (and don't know how to change them), and me or one of my colleagues will take care of that. You can find it here: Portal:Latin_America. Please name the categories to your liking (and remove any excess categories) and let me know if there is anything else you need help with. --Aurvandil 21:51, 11 March 2011 (CET)
