Georg Friedrich Hans Seegers (9 March 1899 – 2 July 1989) was a German officer candidate of the Imperial German Army in World War I as well as officer of the Reichswehr and the Wehrmacht, finally Generalmajor during World War II.

Family

Georg was the son of Professor Julius Seegers (b. 3 March 1858 in Stade; d. 23 November 1938) and his wife Käthe, née Tönjes. About his father:

Seegers attended Lyceum II and I in Hanover and passed the matriculation examination Easter 1877. He then studied mathematics, physics and ancient languages from Easter 1877 to the summer of 1882​​ in Göttingen, passed the state examination in August 1882 and succesfully completed from September 1882 to September 1883 his probationary year at the Lyceum II in Hanover. After several positions as deputy teacher at the Leibniz School, the Lyceum II, at Realschule I, he was called to Celle Gymnasium at Easter 1886, where he taught until September 1905. At this point he was appointed to the Realgymnasium in Osnabrück.

Marriage

On 11 April 1927, Oberleutnant Georg Seegers married his fiancée Gertrud Wempe, with whom he had three daughters born 1929, 1930 and 1935.
