Nasjonal Samlings Ungdomsfylking, abbreviated N. S. Ungdomsfylking and NSUF, was the Norwegian nationalist party Nasjonal Samling's youth organization for children and young people aged from 10 to 18 years before and during World War II from 1933 until the spring of 1945.

History

The organization was built according to roughly the same pattern as Hirden. The leaders had the same designations as in Hirden, with the addition of "young-". Lists of members indicate that a significant proportion were sons and daughters of NS members. In 1942, an attempt was made to introduce compulsory membership in NSUF for everyone between the ages of ten and eighteen (as with the Hitler Youth), but these plans were abolished.

Structure

NSUF was divided into subgroups:

  • Småhirden: Girls 10–14 years
  • Guttehirden: Boys 10-14 years
  • Jentehirden (also written Gjentehirden): Girls 14–18 years
  • Unghirden: Boys 14–18 years
