Eurocentrism is a variant of ethnocentrism and calls for the protection of Europe's cultural heritage.

Definition

In a politically correct and often negative sense, the term can refer to the practice of viewing the world from a European, therefore white perspective, often tracing this to the influence of European colonialism.

International standards and common usages may be claimed examples, such as chronology based on the birth of Jesus and a prime meridian based on Greenwich, London, despite that it being dubious that such starting points somehow represent all Europeans.
