Not so sure about the 'Political timeline' here and its relevance to the eastern provinces. Most of it has no relevance. Matt58 (talk) 12:56, 13 November 2023 (UTC)

Well, Matt, I personally think the holistic representation of area gains from 1938 and area losses up to 1990 (partial reunification) is important for the reader to understand the topic and argumentation that "East Germany", GDR or as a term of the 21st century, is not Eastern Germany. This process should be clear for the ignorant ones without having to visit other articles. I know a lot about this topic, you even more, as I can tell by your articles, but our average reader does not. That's why I think this clear historical presentation (timeline) is important and I don't believe that its inclusion has a negative impact on the article. I hope you can agree. --Crusader (talk) 14:59, 13 November 2023 (UTC)

I hear what you say but I think that with regard to Eastern Germany (as opposed to the DDR), meaning the occupied provinces, the page should deal with this subject and only things which relate to it. I do think people should visit other pages for a particular subject. However, we do have pages which deal with the great wrongs, all round, done to Germany and it is on these pages that such a timeline should be. IMO. Matt58 (talk) 16:46, 13 November 2023 (UTC)

Should we maybe start a new article with the timeline? Let me try this: Dismemberment of Germany. --Crusader (talk) 17:14, 13 November 2023 (UTC)
