Perestroika
Perestroika (Russian: “restructuring”) was a program instituted in the Soviet Union by Mikhail Gorbachev in the mid-1980s to restructure Soviet economic and political policy. It has been argued to have (unintentionally) contributed to the fall of Communism in the Soviet Union and Eastern Europe.
