New Age movement
The New Age movement fully developed in the Western world during the 1960s and the 1970s. It draws its inspiration from a wide variety religious/spiritual/esoteric/occult/mystical systems. One example is Theosophy.
Regarding the contemporary movement, the phrase "New Age" was coined by Alice Bailey to describe transition from the astrological age of Pisces to Aquarius.
Likely in part due to often "holistic" views on the world, there is a tendency to support various politically correct positions such as cosmopolitanism, multi-culturalism, and globalism.
