Moorish Science Temple of America
The Moorish Science Temple of America is a Black religious and nationalist movement founded in 1913 by Timothy Drew (1886–1929), known to followers as Noble Drew Ali and also as the Prophet. He died mysteriously while there were internal conflicts. There were and are various claimed successor organizations. The Nation of Islam derives from the Moorish Science Temple of America.
The movement has many differences with traditional Islam and also other unusual beliefs, such that all Blacks are of Moorish (Muslim North Africans) origin. See the "External links" section.
