Inglourious Basterds is a 2009 Jewish American film written and directed by Quentin Tarantino. It was produced by the Jewish Lawrence Bender and Tarantino teamed with the controversial "The Weinstein Company", associated with Harvey Weinstein and later allegations of sexual harassment and assault against him.

The very violent germanophob film tells an alternate history story in which the leadership of National Socialist Germany is assassinated by a team consisting mostly of Jews. Some have argued that the film is so over-the-top that it in effect causes other impressions than the politically correct ones. See the "External links" section.

Plot

A group of Jewish terrorists perpetrated attacks against German Wehrmacht soldiers committing atrocities against them.

Reality

Historically, France had declared war on Germany, following a slowdown in the reconquered, by Poland occupied eastern German territories, which it had been deprived of under the Versailles Treaty, in consequence of the First World War.

Participation of German actors and film funding by German federal government

Actors of German descent like Diane Kruger, Til Schweiger, Michael Fassbender, August Diel, Sonke Mohring, and Christoph Walz contributed in their roles to the propaganda piece that distorts the historical truth in shameful ways. German actors have already done this in countless other glorifying propaganda films such as "Schindler's List".

The Filmförderanstalt (FFA) of the FRG, Germany's national film funding, supported the propaganda piece with 6.8 million €.
