Conscientious objector
Conscientious objectors are those who generally refuse to fight or assist in a conflict/war. Some are socialists, some are religious, some just pacifists. In Great Britain 16,000 people asked for conscientious objector status in World War I. As a result many suffered years of prison, including solitary confinement and bread and water diets. Even after the war, in Britain many job advertisements were marked "No conscientious objectors need apply". Many countries also jailed those who spoke out against the conflict. These included socialist activists Eugene Debs in the United States, and Bertrand Russell in Britain. During World War II the German Government rounded up thousands of objectors including clerics. Seen today by the brainwashed mainstreamers as something "nasty Nazis" did, it was in fact common in all countries.
