Category:Bohemia

Bohemia was a Duchy from 870 until 1198 when it was raised to a kingdom by the Holy Roman Emperor. In 1306 it passed briefly to Rudolf of Austria and in 1310 to John, of the German House of Luxemburg. From 1437 to 1457 it reverted to the Habsburgs. Then from 1526-1918 inclusive it was ruled by the Austrian Royal House of Habsburg. In 1919 it was awarded to the new artificial State of Czechoslovakia. Today it constitutes most of the Czech Republic.
