Alexander Friedrich von Woldeck, as of 1786 von Jung-Woldeck (1720–1796), was a German officer of the Prussian Army, finally Generalleutnant (Lieutenant General) as well as Governor of Wesel. He was, like his father, buried at the manor of the family, Gut Gnewikow (Prignitz).

Family

Alexander Friedrich came from the Altmark noble family von Woldeck and was the son of Rittmeister (ret.) Christoph (Christoffel) Gregor von Woldeck (1667–1735) and his wife Elisabeth "Ilsabe" Hedwig, née von Weltzien (1663–1725). His oder brother Hans Christoph von Woldeck (1712 – 1789) pursued a military career and also rose to the rank of lieutenant general. His older sister Johanna Luice (b. 7 March 1719; d. 20 March 1784) married Alexander Ernst von Weltzien (1685–1762), their nephew was Heinrich Wilhelm von Weltzien (1759–1827), later lieutenant general and commander of the Cosel Fortress.

Marriage

Von Woldeck married his fiancée Luise Ernestine von Weltzien (b. 12 September 1763; d. 28 October 1834) in Berlin on 25 November 1780. The marriage resulted in three children:

  • Sophie Margarethe Charlotte (b. 3 September 1781 in Berlin; d. 1863) ⚭ 1812 Johann Heinrich Karl Freiherr Menu von Minutoli, Prussian lieutenant general (1772–1846)
  • Philippine Amalie Wilhelmine Ernestine (b. 13 July 1783 in Minden)
  • Johanna Franziska Karoline Antoinette Alexandrine (b. 10 July 1786 in Minden)

Honours

  • Regimentschef (Colonel-in-Chief) of the Füsilier-Regiment "Lossow" in Minden on 22 May 1782
    • From 1741, it belonged to the garrison of Wesel Fortress. The regiment was considered one of the best in the fusilier group during the Seven Years' War.
