Not to be confused with William E. Miller, Senator Barry Goldwater’s running mate on the 1964 Republican presidential ticket.

William F. Miller (born ca. 1924) of Cincinnati, Ohio founded a version of the National Association for the Advancement of White People (NAAWP) in July 1963. In January 1964 Miller announced he would enter the Indiana Republican presidential primary. Miller was a former clerk at the Cincinnati YMCA.[1]

In October 1964 the Board of Trustees voted to oust Miller as head of the NAAWP after he hired a Negro attorney to represent him in a dispute he had with his own segregationist organization. The trustees called Miller's actions an embarrassment to NAAWP members.[2]
