Un-American Gestapo
Un-American Gestapo was a proposed book—never published—written by Joseph P. Kamp exposing the activities of communist-connected writers who infiltrated and libeled nationalist organizations and their leaders in 1930s and 1940s America. The book was to have 400 pages and 100 illustrations.[1] A copy of the manuscript was obtained by the FBI’s New York field office[2] and was initially titled The Smear Offensive. The manuscript was written as a rebuttal to the highly popular book Under Cover, by John Roy Carlson.
