The Shock of History: Religion, Memory, Identity is a book by French historian, New Right thinker, and prolific writer Dominique Venner, published in English in 2015 by Arktos. This Arktos edition is the first of Venner's major works to appear in English. The original French title was Le Choc de l’Histoire: Religion, mémoire, identité, published by Via Romana in 2011.
