Featured article

Why did someone change the Featured Article back to Israeli Art Students? That has already been a featured article. Surely there are other fine pages deserving of attention.Julius A 01:03, 11 June 2013 (CEST)

3000th article for Swedish Metapedia

Could someone provide the date Swedish Metapedia hit the 3000 article? I would like to add it to the Main Page.NatAll75 13:13, 18 May 2008 (CEST)

Featured Picture

I created a "Featured Picture" on the Front Page. Hope no one objects to this being added to the front page. See Template Featured Picture and Gallery of Featured Pictures --- Doktor Faustus 20 August 2009

Good idea -- NatAll75 00:40, 21 August 2009 (CEST)

Update the Main Page

Should we change and update the style of the Main Page? The other Metapedias seem to have a better appearance. - NatAll75 11:06, 31 May 2010 (UTC)

Return to previous layout

I think the Main Page's layout was much better until a few months ago. The featured article looks much more marginal over on the right. Restoring it to the left, which is where the gaze gravitates, will entice contributors to make the best articles possible in hopes of getting featured. The explanantion of Metapedia should return to the right, though I think the video is already in a reasonable place. Julius A 23:51, 6 January 2014 (CET)

I agree with Julius. - NatAll75 08:03, 7 January 2014 (CET)
I also believe, the featured article and the video are much more important, than the "About Metapedia" section. I agree with Julius About Metapedia and Featured article (including contacts) should be swapped. Featured article should, if possible, show an image, that is an eye-catcher. Hu1 12:47, 7 January 2014 (CET)
Thanks for the support. Now how do we change it back? I'm not sure how. Julius A 03:23, 12 January 2014 (CET)
To change the main page is wicked. Best were, if who did the change, changed it back. Hu1 12:32, 12 January 2014 (CET)

Request to add Featured Picture

Greetings, everyone! Do you want to know why I hesitated for so long with registering on Metapedia? It was simply because the main page with its probably important yet very uninviting graphs triggered my brain to think it would be the most boring place in the world – which it truly is not. I am voting for crafting a main page that makes an inviting and pleasant first impression by adding the Gallery of Featured Pictures. --MetaSecurity (talk) 13:57, 27 March 2019 (UTC)

Metapedia Index link

I suggest "Metapedia needs a powerful, comfortable Index!" be removed from the main page. The index is underdeveloped and not useful to new readers of Metapedia. - NatAll75 06:40, 17 July 2010 (UTC)

agreed. I have never understood that idea. Hu1 08:13, 17 July 2010 (UTC)

Members and front organizations must continually embarrass, discredit and degrade our critics.
Does this mean, that "our critics must continually embarrass, descredit and degrade Members and front organizations"?
If yes, is the original sentence grammatically all right?
If not, I do not understand, how can communists (or whoever) try to prescribe, what others do?Hu1 10:34, 29 January 2011 (UTC)
Yes its the correct way round. In Western Europe & North American we have political correctness, so if terms like "racist", "fascist" "antisemitic", "homophobic", "nazi", "far-right", "hate", "white supremacist" can be successfully attached to a patriotic figure (even simply a mild "democratic" conservative) or group in some way, this would lead to its complete ostracism by the entire general public and the victory for the ideas of the enemy (in this case communist operatives). The communists would not make it obvious that they're the source of the attack, but acting by proxies in academia, media and various front-groups dressed up as "independent think tanks", "watchdogs", trade union leaders, etc. It is part of the psychoanalytic tactic used by the Frankfurt School to defeat opponents of communism. - Basileus 15:25, 29 January 2011 (UTC)

Thanks. Clever! Hu1 16:44, 29 January 2011 (UTC)

May you give an exacter sourcing, Basileus? We should start doing that strictly. --DasGewisseEtwas 19:47, 29 January 2011 (UTC)

Yes I agree sourcing is important. It is mentioned in Oliver Carlson, "Handbook on Propaganda for the Alert Citizen: Volume 2, Issue 1", 1953, page 100. - Basileus 21:09, 29 January 2011 (UTC)
This may be the tertiary, quaternary, what else, source, everyone copied from: --DasGewisseEtwas 22:19, 29 January 2011 (UTC)
Some sources claim that this directive is from 1943. For instance: Should we remove the quote? It is very obscure. --DasGewisseEtwas 22:59, 29 January 2011 (UTC)

About & Contact

Wouldn't it make more sense to have the about and contact sections higher, just under the search, with the list of portals closer to the bottom? I tried to change it in preview, but the code breaks it up. - Basileus 21:34, 13 April 2011 (CEST)

I had exactly the same thought when changed the Hungarian main page. I put the portals to the bottom of the right side, because I practically do not use them. If you like that, I can try to reproduce the same for the English main page. I remember, I had to cast about quite a bit to get it right. Hu1 23:39, 13 April 2011 (CEST)
Yes, that would be good thanks. - Basileus 00:27, 14 April 2011 (CEST)

Bot functions

Hello. Need to talk to the bot operator. I wanted to raise the possibility of adding to it a new function to automatically insert the following: < div align="justify" > (At the beginning of each article) and this < /div > in the end. This code arranges the text of the article in an aesthetically better. --German Garcia Perdomo 22:07, 23 May 2011 (CEST)

I have tried that in Metapedia:Sandbox, I can not see any difference. Could you please enlighten me, where and why this would be useful?Hu1 22:39, 23 May 2011 (CEST)
See the article Adolf Hitler and art, has the code. Look especially to the right of the article and notice how the text is aligned. --German Garcia Perdomo 23:04, 23 May 2011 (CEST)
Thanks. Now I see, it alignes the text an the left side of images. I would say, this is a nice to have feature, I would not set up a bot for this. Let us see, what others say. Hu1 11:09, 24 May 2011 (CEST)
Metapedia In Spanish, Derzeeman had added this feature to an existing bot. --German Garcia Perdomo 18:21, 24 May 2011 (CEST)

News section

Is there any way to take the rss feeds of various sympathetic pro-European news blogs and have their new posts automatically show up in a scroll down news section on here? I'm not sure what coding would be needed or if it would be even possible, but it would be much better than it is currently. Basileus 18:55, 13 March 2012 (CET)

This on MediaWiki shows what I mean. Would the code of Metapedia itself need to be edited? Basileus 05:45, 14 March 2012 (CET)

Syria News

Is there agreement in having the daily Syria News feed in English posted on the main page? It would have to be posted and updated daily. Here is a link to a recent broadcast. - NatAll75 00:15, 25 July 2012 (CEST)

The German Metapedia strongly recommends to remove the "ongoing fundraiser template" from all Metapedia language versions as the fundraising is not ongoing anymore. We have collected enough money and we believe that keeping the template any longer is counterproductive to the encyclopedia because it undermines the trust of the donators who may wonder about the use of the money. Please consult with the administrators of the other versions to determine their stance on the issue. We consider the matter to be urgent. All the best, the collective German MP. --Rauhreif 14:22, 20 June 2013 (CEST)

How do we take it down? It may be useful to have a permanent PayPal donate button in case any reader would like to donate to Metapedia, even if they are not involved in editing. Basileus 15:15, 20 June 2013 (CEST)

Its a template: MediaWiki:Sitenotice If you delete it, it will disappear. In my mind it would be a good way to do it at all language versions at the same time. We have a link towards the donation page at our mainpage as well. But the the template appears at all pages. Thats not a good solution for a long time. --Rauhreif 15:26, 20 June 2013 (CEST)

Technically it only needs to be blanked. A Wyatt Man 02:48, 21 June 2013 (CEST)

However... Its as sysop's job. It can be renewed at any time using another text. --Rauhreif 12:29, 21 June 2013 (CEST)

Discovering Era

Can somebody please copy it from wikipedia: [1]. I think is one of the most important article, as during this time from Portugal the europeans arrived everywhere. --MCMLXXXII 20:53, 16 December 2013 (CET)

Update Metapedia

Please! Update Metapedia with a newer version! I see that other encyclopedias do, why not Metapedia. I write it because I want the encyclopedia to advance more quickly to detect versions of more white languages. With older versions does not make sense to continue! --Bulgarian 20:07, 20 January 2014 (CET)

We also need a bot to fix Special:DoubleRedirects. A Wyatt Man 20:43, 20 January 2014 (CET)

Main Page screwed up

20. July, 2014, the main page is screwed up. There is somewhere one <dic> or <span> tag not finished. Hu1 22:27, 20 July 2014 (CEST)

Strange, it was fine yesterday and the main page hasn't been edited for a long time. Basileus 22:33, 20 July 2014 (CEST)
I checked some old versions which are also screwed up. For me this means, that something included was changed. I checked all templates that are included, (excluded them one after the other), but could not find the culprit. Hu1 22:40, 20 July 2014 (CEST)
There was an error on the July 20 page, which I fixed ( ). I hope this solves the problems on the Main Page on July 20th. (Galileo 23:28, 20 July 2014 (CEST)).
Perfect. Thanks for both actors. Hu1 00:13, 21 July 2014 (CEST)

Proposed new main page

I think the current main page is cluttered and contain several sections of little value. The "Current date" section usually links to non-existent articles or to dubious Wikipedia copy-pastes. Many of the other sections are seldom changed and have little contents. Furthermore, I do not think it is appropriate to have prominent sections that link away from Metapedia on the Front Page such as the Featured Video or Internet Radio sections. I am not against having many kinds of pages about not politically correct media but the Main page should encourage Metapedia reading. Possible there could instead be a link on the main page to a portal or some other kind of overview article about pro-European external websites and media. The Main page also uses a needlessly non-standard layout and complex code. A proposed simplification is here: User:Upplysning/Sandbox. Upplysning 23:59, 24 February 2015 (CET)

Your suggestions would be a downgrade of the Main Page. We just need more contributors to fill in the underused sections. The German and Swedish Metapedia Main Pages have plenty of links to outside sources. - NatAll75 04:21, 25 February 2015 (CET)
The Swedish Metapedia only have a featured video. But if there is objections, then I will not make any major deletions and changes. I will make some adjustments and additions making it easier to find Metapedia contents. Upplysning 17:44, 25 February 2015 (CET)
I think your recent changes have improved the Main Page. - NatAll75 12:17, 26 February 2015 (CET)

Advertising for the radio program "American Dissident Voices" on the main page

The main page currently advertises for the radio program "American Dissident Voices" by mentioning and giving direct links to current broadcasts. This gives the impression that there is some kind of special relationship between American Dissident Voices/National Alliance and Metapedia which is incorrect. I see no reason for why this particular radio program should be given free advertising on the main page and it creates a misleading first impression of Metapedia. As such this section should be removed from the main page. Upplysning 12:34, 26 April 2015 (CEST)

Deleting the Internet Radio section on the Main Page is fine with me, but of course you know how this section came to be. It was first started as an update to a number of different internet programs. - NatAll75 08:20, 27 April 2015 (CEST)

Maybe as featured video

Support. I will write a brief article on the book/move. Upplysning 21:03, 29 July 2015 (CEST)
