Sadducees
The Sadducees were a sect or group of Jews that existed from the second century BC until the First Jewish–Roman War (66–73 AD). The group was associated with the higher social and economic parts of Jewish society. The Sadducees are often compared to other contemporaneous groups, including the Pharisees and the Essenes. It has been speculated that the later Karaites may have had some roots in – or connections with – Sadducean views.
