Rochus Misch

Rochus Misch (b. 29 July 1917 in Alt Schalkowitz near Oppeln, German Empire; d. 5 September 2013 in Berlin-Rudow) was an SS non-commissioned officer of the Führer-Begleit-Kommando, finally SS-Oberscharführer in WWII.

Life

Misch served from 1940 to 1945 as a bodyguard, courier, and telephone operator for Adolf Hitler. He stated that he had had no knowledge of the Holocaust during his five years of service in the SS, insisting that Hitler never discussed it in his presence.[1]
