Peace Now Movement

The Peace Now Movement was an anti-war organization formed in Philadelphia on July 10-11, 1943 by Dr. George W. Hartmann and Miss Bessie Simon. Those involved in the formation of Peace Now were either Quakers or members of other peace organizations. They had offices at 15 E. 40th Street, New York and 20 Berkley Street, Cambridge, Massachusetts with an enrolled membership across the country.
