James George Robinson (born c. 1939) was a National States Rights Party activist from Birmingham who assaulted Martin Luther King in Selma, Alabama. In January 1965 King arrived in Selma to register Blacks to vote. King faced opposition from the National States Right Party led by J. B. Stoner and George Lincoln Rockwell’s American Nazi Party.

On January 18, King failed to register anyone to vote and later that day obtained a room at the Hotel Albert whereupon he was assaulted by Robinson. Robinson hit King twice in the head and kicked him twice in the groin. King was not seriously injured and Robinson was arrested. Robinson was fined $100 and sentenced to 60 days in jail for assault.
