Invisible Empire, Knights of the Ku Klux Klan was a rival Klan group to David Duke’s Knights of The Ku Klux Klan. The Invisible Empire founded August 1975 was headed by Bill Wilkinson. Both Klan organizations were based in Louisiana. Wilkinson’s group was apparently organized to weaken the support of Duke’s Klan. In a article that appeared in Nashville’s Tennessean Bill Wilkinson was an FBI informant from 1974 to 1981.[1]

The group's publication was called The Klansman.

Wilkinson resigned from the Klan in 1982 and was succeeded by James Blair of Alabama. Blair due to ill health Blair did not remain Imperial Wizard long and was replaced by James Farrands of Connecticut in 1986.[2]

The group disbanded in 1993 due to law suits by the SPLC. Several members went on to form the Unified Ku Klux Klan.
