Corded Ware culture
The Corded Ware culture was an archaeologically similar culture in Northern Europe, Central Europe and Eastern Europe, circa 2900 BC – circa 2350 BC, thus from the late Neolithic, through the Copper Age, and ending in the early Bronze Age. The term comes from cord-like impressions or ornamentation characteristic of its pottery.
An example of a sub-group is the Swedish-Norwegian Battle Axe culture, named from its characteristic grave offering to males, stone boat-shaped battle axes.
The Corded Ware culture likely reflects the expansion of the Indo-Europeans.
