William Chaney

William M. Chaney was a former deputy sheriff and constable who founded the Confederation of Independent Orders, Invisible Empire Knights of the Ku Klux Klan. This group broke from the United Klans of America where he was Grand Dragon in Indiana.

Chaney was an FBI informant and later convicted of firebombing an Indianapolis business.[1]
