Sydney Explosive Caravan Plot 2025
On January 30, 2025, Sydney police discovered a caravan full of the explosive Powergel in Dural, a rural area on the periphery of Sydney.[1]

Background
Later on March 10, 2025, Australian Federal Police confirmed the caravan tied to a suspected ‘antisemitic terror attack’ was a false flag, with “organized crime gangs using antisemitism to provoke a specific law enforcement reaction.”[2]
Political Motivations
NSW Premier Chris Minns used the staged events to back his push to pass anti-Semitic laws which would further restrict speech and expression in Australia. Additionally, a special task force has been created following the staged events to combat anti-Semitism.
Staged attacks
Australian Federal police and ASIO have confirmed, in relation to prior arson attacks at synagogues and Jewish places, that the suspects are 'meth-heads' who were paid by 'foreign actors' to stage anti-Semitic attacks, but have not disclosed details about the foreign actors. It is not currently clear if all or only some of these events were staged as police have not released that information.
Foreign Influence
According to a 9News report from NSW Australia [source needed], police state that criminals were instructed to put on a display of a terror attack in order to then alert police. According to 9News, the criminals made agreements to have their charges dropped in exchange for performing the fake anti-Semitic attacks. Police have not named the person or persons who orchestrated these fake events or how the person have the ability to alter criminal charges in Australia.
