Changes

Wolfgang, raised a [[Protestant]] (a minority in [[Württemberg]] at the time), was the son of Eberhard Otto Schefold (b. 6 August 1890 in Ulm) and his wife Eleonore "Ella" Caroline, née Haas (b. 21 July 1894), daughter of Dr. med. Wilhelm Haas in Wertheim. His father was a [[Pionier]] officer with the Württemberg Pioneer Battalion No. 13 in Ulm, served in WWI and was {{KIA}} on 4 August 1916 in Miraumont, France as 1st Lieutenant in the 6th Field Pioneer Company. Wolfgang's mother, now a widow, married [[Karl Walter Scherff]] on 2 January 1922. Scherff was a loving stepfather and would later become a Major General in the Wehrmacht. Wolfgang had two half-sisters from this second marriage of his mother: Hildegard and Ursula. After the war, Wolfgang Schefold would marry and have a son.
