Scalawag

Scalawag is a derogatory term in the United States for a White Southerner who during the Reconstruction era was accused of exploitation, sometimes in association with carpetbaggers and/or former slaves. The origin of the term is unclear, previously having been a general derogatory term for worthless animals and persons.
