Pearl Harbor (film)
Pearl Harbor is a 2001 American WWII fictional film on the attack on Pearl Harbor.
Unusually for WWII fictional movies, it was heavily criticized even in mainstream sources for many historical inaccuracies. One example is the film's scenes showing Japanese aircraft targeting medical staff and the base's hospital. Although it was damaged in the attack, the Japanese did not deliberately target the U.S. naval hospital and only a single member of its medical staff was killed as he crossed the navy yard to report for duty.
That such criticisms were mentioned in mainstream sources may be related to such criticisms involving the Japanese and not the Germans, regarding who there are rarely any mainstream criticisms of films for incorrectly depicting aspects such as alleged German cruelty and atrocities.
No mention was made in the movie of revisionist views on the attack, as discussed in the Attack on Pearl Harbor article.
