Make Europe Pay War Debts Committee
The Make Europe Pay War Debts Committee (established December 1939) and the Islands for War Debts Committee were created by George Viereck, a propagandist and paid lobbyist for National Socialist Germany. Both committees existed only on paper but were used as propaganda tools to remind Americans that war debts from the First World War were never paid and that British and French possessions in the Western Hemisphere should be used a payment to the US government.[1]
