John H. Hoeppel

John Henry Hoeppel (February 10, 1881 - September 21, 1976) was a journalist and U.S. Representative from California.

John Hoeppel was born in Tell City, Indiana in 1881 and married Anne Seitz in 1907. He served in the United States Army during Spanish-American War and World War I. In 1919 he moved to Arcadia, California and served as postmaster from 1923 to 1931. He was the founder and publisher of National Defense magazine in 1928. He headed the United Veterans Political Party.

Congressman Hoeppel and his son Charles J. Hoeppel were once convicted of conspiring to solicit the sell a West Point appointment.
