Hermeticism or Hermetism are a set of views associated with the Hermetic writings, probably written in the 1st to the end of the 3rd century AD, in the context of a mixture of Ancient Greek and Ancient Egyptian culture. They are ascribed to "Hermes Trismegistos" meaning "Hermes the Thrice-Greatest", associated with the Ancient Greek God Hermes and the Ancient Egyptian God Thoth. "Popular” Hermetism involved astrology and occultism, “learned” Hermetism involved theology and philosophy.

The writings influenced the Renaissance and various later movements, notably esoteric and occult ones. One combination is with Kabbalah, the Hermetic Qabala.
