Hermann Greife

Dr. Hermann Greife (October 27, 1902 - May 2, 1945) was the author of the work Slave Labor in Soviet Russia In 1980 Sons of Liberty publishers later retitled the book and issued it as The Jewish-Run Concentration Camps in the Soviet Union.

Originally the work was published in National Socialist Germany in 1936 and titled Zwangsarbeit in der Sowjetunion.[1]

Background

Hermann Greife graduated from high school in Moscow, Russia. In 1921 he moved to Germany and years later in 1932 he joined the NSDAP. His educational background was originally in agriculture obtaining his first Ph.D. in the study of dairy farming. In 1938 he obtained a second Ph.D. in the study of Marxism and Bolshevism. On September 11, 1938 he became a member of the Schutzstaffel (number 997868) holding the rank of Untersturmführer. When he died in 1945 he held the rank Obersturmbannfuehrer.
