Gods and Generals is a 1996 American Civil War novel by Jeffrey Shaara and a 2003 film adaption directed by Ronald F. Maxwell. It is also a prequel to Maxwell's 1993 film Gettysburg.

Both films, but in particular Gods and Generals, have been criticized for various less politically correct views.

The films being produced at all may be related to American media mogul Ted Turner being an American Civil War buff.
