Gesta Bellica

Gesta Bellica is a band from Verona, Italy which formed in the beginning of 1991. It dissolved in 2006.

Biography

The band was formed in 1991 within Veneto Fronte Skinheads, a skinhead group operating in the Veneto region in Northeast Italy. It has included Alessandro (guitar), Fabrizio (drums), Ubi (bass) and Pippo (vocals) since 1991.

The band played on August 31st 1992 at the Ritorno a Camelot (En: Return to Camelot) concert alongside Peggior Amico, Verde Bianco Rosso and others, after which they produced a live tape of their concert. Thereafter they produced their demo-tape titled Gesta Bellica.

In 1994 Ubi and Pippo left the band and were replaced by Andron (bass) and Toast (drums), while Fabrizio became the singer of the band.

In 1995 they registered a miniCD split with the Corona Ferrea with the title Tempi Moderni (En: "Modern Times") and participated in the compilation released in October titled Fuori dal Ghetto (En: "Outside the Ghetto") for Tuono Records based in Vicenza, Veneto.

In 1997 they released their first CD, Usque ad Inferos (Tuono Records) and participated in an international compilation. In 1999 they released their CD Iterum Rudit Leo (Tuono Records). This was the album that propelled the band towards success, in particular the tracks '8 settembre '43 and No pasarán. In 2004 they released Ius Primae Lineae (Tuono Records), in which they included a song dedicated to the former officer Erick Priebke, Il capitano.

In 2005 they contributed with the track I ragazzi sono colpevoli vol. 2 (English: The Boys are Guilty Vol. 2) in a compilation by Skinhouse Prod.

During the exibition at Ritorno a Camelot in 2006 the band announce it would be splitting up.
