Filippo Tommaso Marinetti

Filippo Tommaso Marinetti (22 December 1876 – 2 December 1944) was an Italian poet, editor, art theorist, and founder of Futurism and the author of the first Futurist Manifesto (1909).

Marinetti was a fascist and co-author of the Fascist Manifesto (1919). However, his and Futurisms association with Italian fascism varied.

Marinetti volunteered for active service in the Second Italo-Abyssinian War and the Second World War, serving on the Eastern Front for a few weeks in the Summer and Autumn of 1942 at the age of 65.
