Church League of America
The Church League of America was founded in 1937 by a group of Chicago church laymen who opposed FDR and his attempt to ‘pack’ the Supreme Court. The founders were Frank J. Loesch, a lawyer and head of the Chicago Crime Commission, Henry P. Cornwell, chairman of the board of Quaker Oats, and George Washington Robnett an advertising executive. The group published News and Views edited by George W. Robnett.
