The Christian Anti-Defamation League (CADL) was an American non-governmental organization founded to combat anti-Christian currents as well as Jewish and Islamist supremacism. It must not be confused with neither the Christian Anti-Defamation Commission (CADC)[1] under Dr. Gary L. Cass nor with the Christian Defense League (CDL).

History

The CADL was founded in 1950 by Benjamin H. Freedman. A later National Chairman was Dr. Bob Wells, Pastor of the Central Baptist Church of Orange County (1956 to 1986) and Director of the Voice of Truth and Freedom. Another more recent prominent member was Dr. William S. Hollis, Ph.D., J.D., CEO at Education Cost Control Management, LLC, Palm Harbor, Florida.

Goals

The CADL was founded to become the first-in-mind champion of Christian religious liberty, domestically and internationally, and a national clearing house and first line of response to anti-Christian defamation, bigotry, and discrimination. In cooperation with friendly Christian grassroots organizations, in secular and Christian media outlets, the CADL created public relations campaigns to answer the egregious injustice and double standards used against Christians and offered legal litigation and support services in defense of the rights and interests of Christians.
