Achaemenid Empire
The Achaemenid Empire (c. 550–330 BC), also called the First Persian Empire, was an empire ruled by the Achaemenian dynasty. The name Persia derives from Parsa, the name of the Indo-European nomadic people who created the Achaemenid Empire.
The Achaemenid Empire was notably involved in a series of conflicts with Ancient Greece, which the Achaemenid Empire was unable to conquer despite its much larger resources. Eventually, Alexander the Great conquered the Achaemenid Empire.
