Centro Studi Ordine Nuovo
The Centro Studi Ordine Nuovo ("New Order Scholarship Center") was an Italian right-wing association dedicated to "political studies and analysis", and influenced by Julius Evola. It was founded in 1956 by Pino Rauti, as a splinter group of the Movimento Sociale Italiano (MSI). In 1969, Rauti, along with most members, returned to the MSI.
Movimento Politico Ordine Nuovo
The remaining members founded the Movimento Politico Ordine Nuovo ("New Order Political Movement") in 1969. It was banned in 1973. Some members are claimed to have formed the Ordine Nero ("Black Order") in 1974. The two organizations, or some members of the organizations, are claimed to have been involved in terrorism, although exactly what occurred in Italy during the "Years of Lead" is controversial and disputed.
"Ordine Nuovo"
Ordine Nuovo (Italian for "New Order") may refer to both the "Centro Studi Ordine Nuovo" and the "Movimento Politico Ordine Nuovo".
Sources, such as the leftist Wikipedia, may confusingly and incorrectly conflate the two "Ordine Nuovo" organizations, giving the impression that both were terrorist organizations.
