Laikos Orthodoxos Synagermos
Laikos Orthodoxos Synagermos - (Popular Orthodox Rally) is the second conservative party in Greece. It was able to get 10 seats in Parliament in the 2007 legislative election, and 5 more in the 2009 legislative elections. The party is very close to Greek Orthodoxy, thus the name. It is also opposed to Turkish entrance in E.U., is strongly opposed to centrism and claims to be a nationalist party. It's leader and founder, Georgios Karatzaferis was expelled from the New Democracy party in 2000. In 2005 the Greek Nationalist Party Hellenic Front integrated to Popular Orthodox Rally. The party gained a seat in the 2009 EU elections, totally their totally MEPs at 2.
