Crown dependencies

The three Crown dependencies are the Isle of Man in the Irish Sea and Jersey and Guernsey in the English Channel.
Being independently administered jurisdictions with self-governance, they are not part of the United Kingdom or British overseas territories. However, internationally, the dependencies are recognised as "territories for which the United Kingdom is responsible".[1] As a result, they are not member states of the Commonwealth of Nations.[2] However, they do have a relationship with the Commonwealth, EU, and other international organisations and are members of the British–Irish Council. They are not part of the European Union (EU), although they are within the EU's customs area.
