Orthodoxy

Orthodoxy is a term used to refer to the system of religious beliefs and traditions associated with the Orthodox Church. It's principle mission is for it's member to come into union with God through a transformative process of Divinisation known as theosis. It became the official religion of much of Europe during the later part of the Roman Empire, then after the Great Schism was confined to the Byzantine Empire, before gaining ground amongst the Slavs and other people. It continues to play a siginificant role in their societies to this day.
