Mayfair
Mayfair is an exclusive and wealthy suburb in central London, Middlesex, sitting mostly in the estate of the Duke of Westminster[1]. As a result most properties are held by leasehold from that estate.
The Embassy of the United States of America was located in Grosvenor Square throughout the 20th century and until January 2018, in a hideous modernist building, when it moved to a new equally monstrous premises in the Borough of Wandsworth, overlooking the River Thames. In the first three months of 2024 this new embassy has been the 'target' of pro-Palestinian demonstrations and marches.
