Kingdom

A kingdom is a political entity, usually a country, whose form of government is under a monarch. There are absolute monarchs, and there are constitutional monarchs, the latter often being figureheads who have abdicated their real powers to parliaments. That said there have been instances of constitutional monarchs who retained certain important/crucial powers and who therefore played a part in the government. Examples of these latter monarchs are the German, Russian and Austro-Hungarian Emperors to 1918.
