Ahnenerbe
The Ahnenerbe (German meaning "Ancestral Heritage"), initially the Deutsches Ahnenerbe—Studiengesellschaft für Geistesurgeschichte ("German Ancestral Heritage—Society for the Study of the History of Primeval Ideas"), later the Forschungs- und Lehrgemeinschaft Das Ahnenerbe e.V ("Research and Teaching Community of the Ancestral Heritage"), was an SS organization that existed between 1933 and 1945.
History
The politically correct view is that it was a propaganda organization making false claims on Indo-European and German history. Various claims of occult and esoteric associations may also be made. Wikipedia makes various allegations of associations with crimes. Some claims may be problematic for reasons such as Allied psychological warfare.
