Moses Dobruška (12 July 1753—5 April 1794) was a Jewish masonic Jacobin conspirator with links to the Illuminati. He operated under different names; firstly while in Austria he called himself Franz Thomas Edler von Schönfeld and when he fled to France he called himself Junius Frey. He was the first cousin once removed of Jacob Frank; a Kabbalistic false messiah, following in the path of Sabbatai Zevi. Dobruška's own grandfather was the rabbi Jonathan Eybeschutz, whose occult library he inherited.
He was able to infiltrate Austrian society by being raised to the nobility in 1778, feining conversion and adopting a new name during the reign of the decadent Lorraine monarch; Joseph II, Holy Roman Emperor, who was a strong ally of the freemasons and promoted liberal concepts. He worked at the Garelli Library in Austria. It was while in Austria that Dobruška founded the masonic Asiatic Brethren lodge with fellow judeo-mason, Ephraim Joseph Hirschfeld, mixing Kabbalistic and Sabbatean ideas with theosophy. This was one of four lodges in Vienna, which became involved with the Illuminati.
Dobruška's luck in Austria soon ran out however, when Francis II, Holy Roman Emperor ascended to the throne; more conservative and suspicious of masonry in disposition. He moved in 1792 to France, where the Revolution in France was going on at the time. Operating under the name Junius Frey, he became a Jacobin. His Jewish sister Ester Dobruška (who was using the name Leopoldine Frey), providing a large dowry, married the fanatical head of Robespierre's secret police; François Chabot. However, Moses Dobruška was arrested in 1793; accused of being part of a "foreign conspiracy" with the Dantonists. He was sent to the guillotine on 5 April 1794 together with Georges Danton.
